We, at THE WHINE, make content for you, our audience. Everything from our podcast, having conversations we need to have, to our video series discussing important social issues, to our written pieces that can range from a short piece on anti-Asian hate in Canada to a longform bit on being a second generation Filipina woman who doesn’t know her native language. 

We have optimized the content in order to reach our audience by basing much of our content off of what our readers/viewers want, by mining ideas through our WHINE To Us submissions, or by scouring conversations in our Discord channels. 

The tone of our content is stories is as follows: no bullshit, millenial-based stories by women for women and queer people. Our stories cover social issues, culture, personal essays and opinions, all based in what we as young, tired women give a shit about. We cover feminist and LGBTQ2+ based content. They range from in-depth stories to short, quippy pieces to our video and podcast content, where we talk about whatever we want, and whatever you WHINERS want to hear about.

With categorized banners (Shouts, Dear Diary, What’s Hot, and Culture Shock), each story will be segmented by using hashtags so readers can search stories accordingly. Looking for a longer culture piece about fast fashion and the climate? Search #climate in the culture section’s search bar and voilà, the story will appear. The podcast will also have its own category on the site, while the videos will all be accessible through a link to Youtube.

Our newsletter, The Weekly WHINE, will be distributed via email every week, with submissions from our WHINE To Us section, and other text written by the senior editors. This could depend on the WHINE submissions we receive and therefore content will be varied and diverse each week. We all have a lot to WHINE about.

All content will be produced by us, your WHINE team, with each member contributing to all content. With much insight from our readers and viewers, a qualified staff of journalism graduates, and of course, tired, whiney, millennial women and queer people, we can guarantee content from the people and for the people. We want to WHINE and we want you to WHINE with us. Let us be a vessel to carry your WHINEs and allow them to live indefinitely on the internet, in written, audible and visual forms. 

While we expect many of our content ideas to come from our WHINERs, whether through our WHINE To Us submissions or Discord channels, we have compiled a list of possible story and content ideas for our first year of operations.
